How do the readings at Mass connect with what is happening at our retreat? How is God speaking to you this morning?

Pffft!! God planned this.....

And nailed it.

That was an emotional mass.

Lord, guide me through this prayer exercise, as you've been guiding me all day; strongly.

The readings today seemed to be aimed right at my heart. Precisely at me. I also read ahead of the scripture passage for the afternoon exercise, where Paul discussed that the barriers between the Jews and Gentiles are broken down, and all are united in Christ.

When lumping the two sets of readings together, Mass and Ephesians 2:11-22, I feel like I'm getting the message to "let it go, and dive in." Sometimes things will hurt. My heart will be broken, I will be humiliated, people will hate me, and perhaps (hoping this is figurative in my case), my beard may even be plucked. But that God will "raise me up." Whatever that means.

I think I'm also feeling the urge to not focus so much on what I don't like, or don't agree with, and focus on the action of love. The doing of love. The loving in spite of what I may not like, and

Ephesians 2:21-22 says, "Every structure knit together in him grows into a holy temple in the Lord; and you too, in him, are being built up together into a dwelling-place of God in the Spirit."

To be continued....
